Recommended Parts

Spread the love

I don’t sell parts or stock very much, so most of the time I would have to order said part for you. So what you can do instead is just order the part via my links here. They go to Amazon and I do get commission from the sale, not to mention you’ll get the best deal on them. While I could make an exhaustive list of parts, I’d rather put some commonly needed items here.

SSD (Solid State Drive)

Solid State Drives have largely replaced the older style spinning drives (hard drives) that are prone to mechanical failure. SSDs remove the mechanical element, and have increased reliability and much better speed. The best thing about an SSD is you can make an old computer run better than new, and an SSD upgrade is often a far more economical choice than simply buying a new computer.

Silicon Power 256GB SATA

Silicon Power 512GB SATA

Silicon Power 1TB SATA

Silicon Power 2TB SATA

External Hard Drive

I’m only listing one here, a Seagate Portable 2TB drive. For most people, this is more than enough to store backups.

Routers

I really like TP-Link brand routers. They work pretty well and are reliable. The list of routers I could link here is exhaustive, so I’ll just reduce it to the 3 most people might need. They will be listed in order of lowest to highest price.

TP-Link AC1750 Smart Wifi Router Archer A7

TP-Link Wifi 6 AX1800 Archer Ax21

TP-Link Wifi 6 Ac4000 Tri-Band WIFI Router

RAM

I’m not listing memory here, simply because of the variety of types and speeds available. However, when the time comes, I’ll provide you with the best options for your computer.

Mouse

Need a new mouse? Most people don’t need anything fancy or expensive. A simple wireless mouse is what most people need, but I’ll provide a wired option here as well. Looking for a gaming mouse? There are many options, but unless you’re paying 90+ for your mouse, chances are it’s a gimmick.

Logitech M510 Wireless

Logitech B100 Corded Mouse

Keyboards

Yes, I like Logitech. They’re great. So I’ll list a couple of good keyboards, one wired, the other wireless. I also listed a mechanical keyboard, since they’re really popular right now. For good reason too- if you remember the clicky keyboards from the 80’s and miss them, you’ll fall in love with a nice new mechanical keyboard!

Logitech K120 Wired Keyboard

Logitech MK345 Wireless Combo Set

Logitech K845 Mechanical Keyboard

Surge Protector and Battery Backup (UPS)

It’s important to get a good name brand surge protector or UPS to protect your investment. I’ve found that Tripp Lite is an excellent brand with high quality items. You do not need to purchase both, as a UPS also has surge protection (unless you need to protect devices at different outlets).

Tripp Lite TLP8088 8 Outlet Surge Protector (with $75,000 insurance!)

Tripp Lite 600VA UPS Desktop Battery Backup (with $100,000 insurance!)

Laptop Power Supply

Unlocked Cell Phones

There’s literally thousands of cell phones on the market, so posting all the good ones here is not going to happen. However, there are some devices worth mentioning that are good quality and don’t break the bank.

Nokia 6300 4G Unlocked

ZTE MAX Connect Unlocked Mobile Hotspot

Oneplus Nord N100 Android Smartphone

Mobile Charging

Micro USB 2-pack 6.6ft

USB-C 2-pack 6ft

Lightning 2 pack 6ft Apple MFI-certified

Wall Adapter, 1A (smartphones) 6pack

Wall Adapter, 2A (Ipads/Tablets/Battery Banks) 3 pack

Wireless Charger, 10W Fast Wireless Charging Qi-Certified
